The Original Stainforth
Web Site
The Stainforth 2001 site was launched
on New Year's Day 2001 to mark the dawning of the
new Millennium. This site is packed with pages about
the history of Stainforth, the people of Stainforth,
and the issues affecting Stainforth, as well as hundreds
of photographs.
Take a look at the Stainforth
2001 Guest book to
find comments left by Stainforthians from all around
the world. The original guestbook is 23 pages long
with almost 500 entries.
A new guestbook was added on January
1st 2007!

Maybe you were!
This is a new addition to Stainforthonline
and is another project that I hope to continue to
work on for some time. It is an extension to the Stainforth
2001 site's "People" section
and concentrates on Stainforth people going about
their daily lives as recorded by photographers over
the years.
All of the photographs in this project have been donated
by local folk and depict local people at work, at
school and at play. Take a look and see if there's
anyone you know!
The School
Days & Sports section contains photographs
of football teams, groups of pupils and staff from
Stainforth's schools
The
Stainforth at Work section contains photographs
of Stainforth Doctors in the 1960 and workmen at Hatfield
Colliery.
The Fun
Days and Socialising section has photographs
from long gone Gala Days and some of Stainforths pubs
and clubs.
The Hatfield
Main Club section contains some of Josh Fleck's
collection of photographs, taken at the Pit Club over
a twenty year time span.
Please contact me if you or someone you know would
like to donate a copy of a photograph for this project.

The Stainforth Voice Archive.
This is a relatively new addition
to the Stainforth web sites, but it is a project that
I hope to continue to work on for many years to come.
It is an extension to the Stainforth
2001 site, which looks at Stainforth's history,
but with the added bonus that you can listen to people
telling their own stories about subjects which are of
interest to local historians and family history researchers.
Please contact me if you or someone you know would like
to participate in this project.

Help & Advice, for miners, ex-miners, their
widows and their descendants
The Miners Advice site contains mining
related history, news and events, as well as practical
advice for miners, ex-miners and their families. Mining
2000 looks at the state of the coal industry at the
turn of the century.
Made in collaboration by Dave Douglass & Adge Covell,
with contributions from many very talented people. |

The sinking of Hatfield Main Colliery in 1916 brought great changes to Stainforth and an influx of people from all over the country who were looking for work and a new home. These pages on the original Stainforth 2001 site cover the history of Hatfield Colliery and news of current developments.
The latest addition to these pages are details of Powerfuel's plans to build and opertate a 900MW electricity generating plant on the site. |

local people who helped to make Faith. |

A few photographs
from the 2008 Waterside Festival
It was a very dark and overcast
day when I visited the canal to see what was there for
this year's festivities. It wasn't a good day for photography,
but I managed to take a couple of photgraphs to upload
for the site. |
